Deep edge beams on sloping Rouse Hill lots, and the Z bars that hold them in
Why a stepped slab carries extra steel, and what a pre-pour inspection looks for in it.
The holes, the cages and the footings between them, looked at before the concrete truck is booked.

Piers show up on Rouse Hill lots where the founding layer sits deeper than a standard slab edge can reach, often on cut and fill blocks or beside the creek lines. The common finding is not the piers themselves but what joins them: strip footings left incomplete, formwork still being braced on the morning of the pour, service trenches not backfilled. An engineer usually wants to see the holes before concrete too, and the report notes whether that sign off has happened.

Why a stepped slab carries extra steel, and what a pre-pour inspection looks for in it.

How the bracing system holds a frame against wind, and the parts of it most often missed.

Why gas, water and electrical services must be kept apart, and why lock-up is the last chance to see it.

Because the engineer has found that the slab must bear on ground deeper than its edge beams reach. The soil report and the engineering for your lot explain why.
Usually under an hour. More piers or a sloping site add time.
We measure where it is safe and practical. Where a hole cannot be measured, the report says so.
No. The engineer certifies the founding conditions. We check the workmanship and that what is built matches the drawings, on your behalf.
We note it. Water and loose spoil at the base need to be dealt with before the concrete goes in.
Send it to the builder before the pour. Missing footings or bracing are quick to fix now and very hard to fix later.
